A small selection of my videos, mostly shot hand-held with a small Canon HFR (sadly, my cherished Canon 30D has no video capability). They include a series of four videos I created some years ago to show Mana at various times of year, from the lushness of the “Green Season” to the dust and heat of October; and finally Boswell, Matusadona, and some brief video clips of mine that you might enjoy.
First off, though, a personal favourite, just to put you in the mood for Mana Pools:
Mana in January:
Mana in April:
Mana in June:
Mana in October:
Now to the Matusadona foreshore in May, showing the extensive foreshore well covered with Panicum repens (“torpedo grass”) and other species that provide an invaluable food source for the Park’s grazers until the rains come once more:
Some random clips from my video library (of somewhat varying technical quality but you might enjoy them anyway). Here’s Boswell giving himself a shower – his left tusk still unbroken at the time…:
A plover gets a surprise at Long Pool, possibly having mistaken “croc” for “rock”…:
I missed the actual birth, but managed to capture this touching footage as the mother impala tends her newborn lamb. I’d like to think it survived Mana’s baboons. And lions…:
...We wouldn’t do a thing like that, would we! We’re much too lazy….
